Select First Visible Cell Under The Header Row After Applying Autofilter - Excel |

I need vba code to Select first visible cell below the header row after applying autofilter on column Q of the data. Can somebody help me on this?
I tried

but it does not work. Probably because column Q is filtered to show only blank cells,
Can somebody help me on this?
Thanks,

1) after applying the filter, while selecting the data it is selecting all the rows in given range till last row on the workbook. I need this to select the the data only till the last used row in the given range.
2) It is not possible to provide the address of the first row after we apply the filter since the first row address may change depending on the values in the table.
E.g. 1st time when I am running the macro the first row in the visible filtered data is starting at Cell address A4 and next time when I will run the macro it may be A6
3) The Code is also selecting the 1st row which is a header row. How can we exclude it from selection.
Some one please revert with the solution.
Thanks in advance.
how do I select (in VBA) all the rows that were filtered out by autofilter (using VBA code) and delete them leaving just header. I just can't figure out how to select entire rows when the data is filtered...
Thanks for your hints!
I'm hoping someone can help me.
I need to be able to clear the contents of cells in column C, D, E, H if the value of column Q equals HELLO for arguments sake.
Clearing the contents of an entire row is not a problem, however when it comes to resizing rows I seem to come unstuck.

Any help would be appreciated.
I have a question regarding filtering of columns, hopefully someone is able to put me on the right track. I have set up Excel 2007 so that I can click on the drop-down menu in each column to filter them.
However, in my data set there is one blank row separating two set of rows. Now, when I apply the filter on a column, all the rows above the blank row filter correctly, but all the rows below stay un-filtered.
I guess Excel only looks at the consequtive rows, then stops when it hits a blank row. Is there any way of applying the filter beyond a blank row (i.e. the whole column)?
Any advice is higly appreciated.

I am using Excel 2007. In prior versions of excel, when copying data, if I wanted to copy visible cells only, I would select "Go To, Special, Visible Cells Only" and then copy a range a cells. The default was always set to copy everything (including hidden cells), unless I specifically selected copy visible cells only.
In 2007, the default is somehow set to always copy only visible cells. Sometimes, I want to be able to copy all cells including those hidden but cannot seem to figure out how to swith this default option. I looked under Excel Options and did not see an option there.
I don't want to have to unhide and rehide everything each time i copy. I know i could do the hiding and unhiding via VBA but would prefer not to have to.
Thanks for your suggestions.
I use filters a lot at my work. One thing I've noticed is that if I have something filtered and want to copy and paste only what I see from one column to another column right next to it, it will copy what is filtered, but then paste into the unfiltered portion.
Is there some way to copy only what I see when it's filtered, THEN paste only onto the adjancent cells which is also filtered?
For example let's say i have each of the number below in a cell (Fig 1). And then I hide rows 2 -3, so only 1 and 4 is showingI only see 1 & 4 in column A. I want to copy and paste 1 and 4 to the next column over one row so it looks like Fig. 2 when unhidden. Not like Fig. 3.

Im very familiar with how to write a macro to automatically autofilter a list based upon a Cell Value (i.e. Range =(A1)...etc.).... but what I cannot figure out how to correctly write is a way to have Excel automatically autofilter a list for any row that CONTAINS the Cell Value, instead of just the exact value.
Cell Value = "birds"
Example -- I need to filter every row so that I see every row that CONTAINS "birds" in the character-string, not just the row that = "birds".
a) is this possible?
If not, I'd like to know also so I can stop attempting to guess (-;
Thanks!!!

So far I can get everything to work besides the Submit part. The code runs without errors, but doesn't actually "hit" the submit button on the webpage.
For posting, I removed my actual user name and password and and used the generic " User Name " and " Password " highlighted in blue.
I highlighted another section in green that I took from a previous post hoping it would solve my problem. The link is: http://www.mrexcel.com/forum/showthr...xplorer+submit
Here is the code I am using:

Do While .busy: DoEvents: Loop
Do While .ReadyState 4: DoEvents: Loop
.document.getelementbyid("fUserName").Value = " UserName "
.document.getelementbyid("fPassword").Value = " Password "

I can calculate the formula for this , but the problem comes where for eg there is a loss in Jan 2008 for -95415 and there was a profit in Jan 2007 for 80215. How do I set up formula to take negatives & positives into account in calculating the increase or decrease/
Your assistance or anybody's on the forum will be greatly appreciated

So, basically I'm after: If column B has text, do nothing. If column B is blank, then list text from Column A.
Right now I've created Column C with this formula =IF(ISBLANK(B1), A1. That's working to get the text from A1 when B1 is blank. What can I do/add to get it pull the text from B1 if there is text there? Or...is there a better approach altogether?
I have set up a workbook that is sent out to lots of different users. They each keep and use their own copy.
I have set it up so that everything looks OK and is visible on MY screen, but I'm conscious that some users may have different screen sizes, different toolbars set up, and so on, which might make some parts not immediately visible to them.
I have set up an auto-execute macro which automatically sets the zoom factor to best fit, for several of the worksheets, and this works fine.
Here's the code that does it.
Code:
Sheets("WELCOME").Select Range("A1:N18").Select ActiveWindow.Zoom = True
By repeating this code for each worksheet, I can make each one be zoomed just right.
However, the file contains 8 sheets that are all identically laid out, except the number of rows is different.
What I want to do is go to the worksheet that has the largest number of rows (it's always the same worksheet, so I know which one it is), set the zoom factor for THAT worksheet (which I can do, and it always has the same number of rows), and then take THAT zoom factor, whatever it is - and it will vary depending on the user - and apply that to the other worksheets that have a similar layout.
I could just go through each worksheet and zoom it automatically, but that would mean that some of the sheets looked very large, others very small, and I'd like them to have a consistent appearance.
I could also specify a range on each worksheet that was similar to the appropriate range on the longest worksheet, and zoom that automatically, but that's not ideal either, because some of the row heights vary from sheet to sheet, and again I'll end up with different font sizes.
Anyone know how to do this ?
The question:
How can you prevent a cell's contents from overflowing into the next cell?
Of course, you can make the column wider or turn on text wrapping, but you might not want to. Each of those solutions can mess up the layout of your sheet. You may just want to truncate the value.
Some people have suggested putting a space in the next cell. This is unnecessary, a pain in the but, and will mess up any ISBLANK type formulas, among other things.
The solution:
Select the cells in question and turn on text wrapping (Format>Cells>Alignment>Wrap Text).
Now select the row(s) in question and manually set the row height, by right clicking the row number and selecting "Row Height". Check the height of an adjacent row for a good value.
Your cells will now not spill over either horizontally or vertically. They will simply truncate anything that doesn't fit.
Be careful now, because parts of your data may be hidden. This can cause its own set of problems if one or two digits are neatly hidden away. Think ahead if other people might be using this sheet, and not be expecting to have some data hidden.
Tested in Excel 2002
Until now I have been able to find all my answers through searches. As a VBA novice, it has been very helpful. I am stumped on this one, however. I am trying to autofill from the selected cell in Column C down. I would like it to stop at the last cell with data in Column B. This is the code I have so far:
Range("C2").Select
Selection.AutoFill Destination:=Range(Selection, Selection.End(xlDown))
This does the autofill, but doesn't stop at the last cell with data in Column B.
In the past I have use this code to acheive similar results:
Dim endRow As Long
endRow = Cells(Rows.Count, "B").End(xlUp).Row
Range("C2").AutoFill Destination:=Range("C2:C" & endRow)
The problem with this code is that I will not always be starting in "C2". I need code that uses whatever the selected cell is.
All help is appreciated. Thanks!
I found an excellent macro this morning that allows the user to filter a pivot table based on the value found in a specific cell. This cell essentially acts as a search bar, allowing the user to type in what they are looking for rather than select it from a drop-down list.
The macro works perfectly for my purposes except in one regard: I can no longer perform a "show all" filter. If I leave the "search bar" cell blank, the pivot table shows nothing. I'm sure that there is an easy fix for this but I'm still learning the basics of how to write and use macros. How can I change the code so that when I leave the cell blank, the pivot table shows all? The search bar cell is D2.
Thanks for your time!
I've tried condtional formatting where if the cells = (BLANK) it woulf format them as white -did not work
I tried the pivot table options and clicking on the box "for empty cells show" and set it to 0 then empty but that did not work.
any Ideas???
Thanks
For example, suppose you have tables of data on 3 different tabs, all having the same headings. Suppose one of the headings is "gender". If you apply a filter to the table on Sheet 1, to only show the rows containing the word "female", is it possible to have the tables on Sheets 2 and 3 automatically update to only show the "female" rows? Or would you have to manually update the filter criteria in Sheets 2 and 3?
I hope this makes sense. Thank you in advance for any help.
I am currently using 'Activecell.Offset(1,0).Select' to move down one cell at a time when I click on a button.
The problem I have now is that if someone was to filter by something then the 'next cell down' could be hidden behind the filter (by that I mean it didn't meet the filter criteria).
Is there anyway to move down to the next row, even if that row does not follow on Sequentially .
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got the below macro which uses IE and open the URLs. I want to create a userform with listbox with radio button and commandbutton on the same which will help me to connect to each url when I select the same in listbox and click on the commandbutton.
Code:
Sub DoBrowse1() Dim ie As Object Set ie = CreateObject("Internetexplorer.Application") ie.Visible = True ie.Navigate "www.google.com" End Sub
Any suggestions..
I'm very new to Excel, and I'm having trouble figuring a few things out. Hopefully this will be very easy for you guys!
In Sheet 1, I have a column of cells that I would like to also appear in Sheet 2. If I add a new row to the column in Sheet 1, I would also like it to be updated automatically in Sheet 2. Currently, I can get it to show the contents of individual cells from Sheet 1 in Sheet 2 by using this formula in the formula bar for each cell in Sheet 2:
=Sheet1!A3 (or whichever cell it is)
That's fine, but I'd like to just have a formula that will reproduce the entire column (ie. without a fixed range, as new rows are going to be added to the column).
If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd be very very grateful. Thanks.
